Our Contemporary and Sustainable Education Philosophy

One of the SEV Foundation’s long-standing goals is to nurture individuals who make a difference in the world by supporting their intellect growth and social awareness. We are stewards of historic educational institutions that uphold tradition while employing innovative instructional practices, so it is fundamental to our Educational Philosophy to ensure continuity, stability, and sustainable development as part of our corporate culture.

Our Deep-rooted Corporate Structure Since 1968

Our school system was founded by the American Board of Trustees to Turkey in 1820 and became institutionalized in 1968 with the founding of the Health and Education Foundation (SEV) by graduates of Üsküdar American Academy, American Collegiate Institute, Tarsus American College, and Talas American Middle School.

We've been pioneers in education for more than 150 years, guided by our shared values of integrity; respect and trust; responsibility and accountability; grit, passion, and perseverance; and inquisitiveness.

For more than 50 years, we have created opportunities for students thanks to the generous contributions of our alumni and other benefactors. Scholarships are awarded to one out of every five students at Üsküdar American Academy, American Collegiate Institute, Tarsus American College, and SEV American College. With resources provided by our institutions and the donations we receive, we create scholarship opportunities for students who excel in sports, arts, sciences, and academics.
